Does anyone know who Manuel Maria Barbosa du Bocage was ?
Manuel Maria de Barbosa l'Hedois du Bocage (Setúbal, 15 September 1765 <unk> Lisbon, Mercês, 21 December 1805) was a Portuguese national poet and possibly the greatest representative of the Lusitanian arcadianism.[1] Although icon of this literary movement, he is a figure inserted in a period of transition from the classical style to the romantic style that will have a strong presence in Portuguese literature of the nineteenth century.[2] He was a second cousin of the zoologist José Vicente Barbosa du Bocage.
